As I prepared for my November Personal Success series on #tuesdaytalksatthree, I came face to face with my version of what success is.
For me success is about the #smallwins which build up to bigger wins. It is about me
✔setting up a plan, ✔setting up action plans,✔ staring the journey, and identifying/appreciating the small wins along the way.
For example, my small wins:
Could be my fall back internet connectivity plans that finally saved the day.
Could be the content that I had prepared a while back, that set me up to respond to an enquiry in a timely manner.
Could be my content calendar coming together
??But it was not always like that.
My version of success was based on what society dictated and what my family and peers expected. I was living on other people’s expectations and expecting to feel fulfilled.
The goals were therefore alien to my very self.
They did not align to my Values and Principles.
They did not feel authentic at all.
As a result I kept chasing after that fulfillment that was without my reach.
I even dared to feel let down by myself when I did not measure up (which was most of the time). I was envious of others when they ‘made it’ in the areas that I deemed important.
My marriage, my children, my lifestyle, my career, my spirituality, my health, and so on were all based on everyone’s expectation other mine.I worked really had to impress, and I failed miserably. How do I know this? – Because I was not fulfilled.
?Can you relate to this❓
If you took a moment right now and questioned your plan, would it be:1. Based on society expectations?2. Based on family and peer expectations?3. Based on your authentic need?
?Small Wins are powerful. They keep one focused and grow your confidence to keep moving forward.
?Small Wins are integral to our personal success, as we are able to acknowledge and appreciate them.
?Small Wins set other small wins in motion and eventually lead to Huge Wins
