Own The Narrative
Part Two: Accountability
💡Limiting Beliefs are not the truth about you.
In my Coaching sessions, I help you unpack your limiting beliefs, consider other perspectives and have a choice of narratives to replace those beliefs. The session will always end with #accountability. This means that you the Coachee, will need to commit to the heavy lifting.
Taking personal responsibility and living on your terms is one way to manage your emotions. This takes being aware of them, and how you respond to them. Accountability lies in the actions and the time in which you execute the actions. The lack of execution is also part of accountability.
When your inner critic tells you that you cannot do something because you are not cut out for it…challenge the inner critic and apply action plans to overcome it.
✔️We are often lucky to identify the limiting belief and do something about it.
✔️To take this a step further, it serves to measure the results of the actions taken.
Playing down these results is foolhardy and demotivating.
Emotions are powerful and can paralyze us, rendering us puppets of the unconscious mind where our limiting beliefs reign. It serves to keep in mind that we do have the ability to shift our emotional state. We just need the #courage to do so.
Choosing to consciously take back control means, knowing what is happening and intentionally taking the necessary action to make it happen and this could mean, replacing an emotion that is not serving you with one that will.
Thoughts become words, and in turn, become actions. Optimize this by utilizing the opportunity to be what you set out to be even before it happens. It was Steve Covey who said – ‘Everything is created twice. First in the mind……’ – In my opinion, therein lies the opportunity to create a second time – in reality (read #actions)
What you choose to feel in the moment is what will propel you to move forward. That is where your energy will flow towards. Your power to direct your thoughts in that direction lies within you. No one else can give you that control.
Being accountable helps you to own the action, put in the work, trust the process and measure the outcome. Take the learnings along the way and watch how focused your journey is.
