ALCON

ALCON: a US military standard abbreviation for ‘ALL CONCERNED’ I heard it today for the first time. I was attending a requiem service for a childhood friend. His work colleagues gave him a befitting tribute and referred to him as ALCON, simply and purely because he was that guy that made sure the office operated as a #TEAM. He was a leader and a role model. He was so versatile in his communication skills that they said that he was sophisticated. He was humble. They say that he gave his best always. No one felt alone for as long as he was around. He reached out and made one feel loved and special. He shared his knowledge and skills selflessly, clearly he has emptied himself and transitioned on. It was his time.

What are you doing today for a better tomorrow?

What are you good at, and what impact is it making?

Today, I honour my childhood friend – Eric (ERICO) Mbithi Masika. You have left behind a beautiful legacy. May your family be comforted and find peace during this trying time. Rest in perfect peace.

Lessons learnt:

1. Purpose to show up and give your best always

2. Empty yourself into others and empower them

3. We are dust and to dust we shall all return
